Abdurrahman Kaan has been selected for the Presidency duty at the 24th Ordinary General Assembly of Organization of Private Industrialists and Businessmen (MUSIAD)

There was great excitement at the General Assembly, which was attended by near 3.500 entrepreneurs. 5th Period President Nail Olpak handed over his leading duty, after five years of managing, to Abdurrahman Kaan who was selected by the votes of members at the general assembly.

President of Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Vice President Veysi Kaynak, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Ozlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betul Sayan Kaya, Governor of Istanbul Vasip Sahin and Mayor of İstanbul Kadir Topbas attended to 24th Ordinary General Assembly of MUSIAD along with 27 representatives with titles as trade attaché, consul assistant and chief counsel from 23 countries including Holland, Japan, Iran and Saudi Arabia.

In the first sitting of the assembly, which took place in Halic Congress Center, President of Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Abdurrahman Kaan and Nail Opak each gave a speech.

In the second sitting that started with the selection of council board and their president, MUSIAD’s 2015-2017 activity report and income and expense chart with the 2017-2019 business plan and estimated budget have been approved. As the results of determination of community of presidents of market boards along with management, supervision, and fortification permanent and substitute members, Abdurrahman Kaan got brought to the position of MUSIAD’s 6th President.

Members of the new board of directors were also determined at Internal General Assembly where Kaan got handed over the duty from Nail Opak. According to this, MUSIAD’s new members of the board are Ali Gur, Ali Reis Topcu, Kerim Altıntas, Israfil Kuralay, Mehmet Akif Ozyurt, Mahmut Asmali, Adnan Bostan, Melike Gunyuz, Halim Aydin, Mehmet Unal, Burak Bensin, Omer Faruk Akbal, Muhammet Ali Ozeken, Soner Mese, Ahmet Sekerli, Oktay Dede, Ibrahim Uyar, Hikmet Kose, Zeki Guvercin, Bayram Senocak, Fatih Kecebir, Gokhan Yetkin, Burhan Ozdemi̇r and Engi̇n Akdag.

“We should create a new system, which will minimize the effects of interest or abolish it thoroughly.”

Abdurrahman Kaan, during his speech, marked that they always worked with all their effort for their own and the country’s advancement as MUSIAD. “MUSIAD today has become a force to reckon with. Today, we are in 86 points in Turkey and 68 countries of the World with 181 points. We reached to a young businessmen community with 3.000 members all around Turkey.” Kaan also stated that they not only deal strictly with the problems in the business world but also attribute to the solution with the reports they prepare and suggestions they make with their professional teams.

Reminding that one of the biggest problems of developing countries is unemployment, he said, “ Our nation works hard on this matter in the recent years, with the directions of our respected President of Republic and the precision of our government, much attention is paid to this very subject.”

Kaan continued his words:

“We always say more production, more investments and more job opportunities, however, I would like to remind you that interest subject is the bleeding wound of our country. Without changing the ruling system that works on interest, it is impossible to modify or annihilate the interest. We should create a new system, which will minimize the effects of interest or abolish it thoroughly. We need to turn our finance policy from ‘more out of interest’ to ‘more out of investment’ base.”
